The HIGH FIVE® Accredited Difference

Achievers Summer Learning Camp is proud to be a HIGH FIVE® Accredited organization, demonstrating our commitment to Canada's nationally recognized standard for quality children's recreation. Through caring leaders, positive friendships, active play, skill development, and meaningful participation, we create safe, inclusive, and engaging experiences that help children build confidence, discover new interests, and create lasting memories.

ABOUT THE CAMP

Learning that feels like play

Run by the Ontario Learning Development Foundation, Achievers is a place where children build real-world skills through games, projects and friendships  all in a safe, inclusive space.

Inclusion

Every child belongs here. Programming is adapted so all campers can join every activity.

Creativity

Art, music, drama and maker projects give every child a way to express themselves.

Financial literacy

Finance Week teaches saving, budgeting and smart choices through camp "stores" and games.

Culture

Culture Week celebrates the foods, music and traditions of every family in our community.

Leadership

Campers take turns leading teams, presenting projects and mentoring younger friends.

Learning through fun

Hands-on activities turn reading, math and problem-solving into games kids actually look forward to.

The HIGH FIVE® Accredited Difference

Our accredited programs are designed to support the healthy development of every child while providing families with the confidence that their children are participating in a program committed to excellence.

SAFETY FIRST

Trained, screened and ready

Parents trust us with what matters most. Here’s how we earn it, every single day.

Photo-ID pick-up and signed independent-dismissal keep every departure secure.

Staff training and supervision continue every week, all summer long.

We coach with encouragement — building confidence, not just enforcing rules.

Activities are adapted so every child can take part safely and fully, whatever their needs.

All team members pass vulnerable-sector checks and full reference screening before hire.

Certified first-aid and CPR responders are on site at all times throughout the day.

Every staff member completes Principles of Healthy Child Development training before camp begins.

Our programming meets HIGH FIVE® — Canada's quality standard for children's sport and recreation.

Questions parents ask

Tell us everything during registration. We keep allergy-aware seating at lunch, staff carry allergy lists for their groups, and our site is nut-aware. Staff are trained to use epinephrine auto-injectors.

Yes — complete the Medication Authorization form and hand the medication to staff at drop-off. Our trained team administers it exactly as directed.

We’ll care for your child in a quiet space and contact you right away. Children who are unwell should stay home until they have recovered.

Pick-up runs from 4:00–4:30 PM. Please bring photo ID; only adults listed on your authorized pick-up list may collect your child.

Full refunds are available up to two weeks before the session start. See Camp Policies for partial-refund and credit details.

Absolutely. Share any needs at registration and our team will adapt activities so every child can take part fully.

We don’t run buses, but we’re happy to connect families for carpools. Drop-off and pick-up are at our North York location.

Let us know as soon as you can. Late pick-ups are supervised by staff; repeated late pick-ups may incur a small fee.

No. Achievers Summer Camp is a group-based recreational and educational program. We do not provide one-on-one supervision, educational assistants, behavioural therapists, or personal support workers.

We are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment and encourage families to discuss any medical, behavioural, developmental, accessibility, sensory, emotional, or learning needs with us before camp begins.

Accommodations are considered on an individual basis and are subject to our ability to safely and reasonably meet a child’s needs within the group setting.

Children who require continuous one-on-one supervision or specialized support services may need to attend camp with an approved external support person or may require alternative arrangements if we are unable to safely accommodate their needs.

Accommodations are considered on an individual basis and are subject to our ability to safely and reasonably meet a child’s needs within the group setting.

Parents and guardians are responsible for informing OLDF of any medical conditions, allergies, medications, behavioural concerns, developmental needs, accessibility requirements, emotional regulation needs, learning supports, or other circumstances that may affect their child’s participation or the safety and well-being of others.

Our priority is the safety and well-being of all campers and staff. If a child’s needs cannot be safely or reasonably accommodated within the camp environment, or if information affecting safety was not disclosed during registration, OLDF reserves the right to require alternative arrangements or withdraw the participant from the program.

We encourage families to contact us before camp begins so we can discuss their child’s needs and determine whether Achievers Summer Camp is an appropriate fit.
